Screenshots Made Easy!

Post by oBoyy » Tue May 24, 2011 8:19 pm

I've been using this for a bit, and it is seriously amazing. You will never have to use Swiftkit again. Might as well uninstall it. Use mIRC with this and you'll have everything.

Step 1: Downloading Dropbox

First of all you must download the File-sharing application, Dropbox.
Download link: http://db.tt/B4f6Pjl (Use this link, it gives you an extra 250MB of free space.)

You must install after you make an account. After it is installed, right click the "Public" folder and go to: Send to>Desktop(Create shortcut).

This will make it easy to access this folder. Everything you put in the public folder will AUTOMATICALLY be uploaded to the website, and made public. Anything put in other photos only you will be able to view, so use public if you want to host pictures.

Once you have this, continue to the next step.

Taking the pictures

First of all, you will need this program, called Gadwin PrintScreen. It is free, and takes quick easy screenshots with just clicking the print screen button.
Download link: http://www.gadwin.com/download/ps_setup.exe

Once downloaded, open the program and use these settings. (Make sure that the Capture Directory is in your PUBLIC Dropbox folder, otherwise this won't work.

Conclusion

If you did this right, all you should have to do to take a screen shot is:
1. Click the print screen button
2. Open your Dropbox Public folder on your desktop, and right click the file you want, go to dropbox and click "Copy Public Link"

I hope you enjoy this, it is extremely simple and much better than anything else currently available. If you need any help just post here, pm me in irc/forums and I'll see what I can do. Happy screenshotting! :D

But those screenies are shitty quality, and with this it doesn't print your whole screen, just your RuneScape window.

You can easily do what Ebola says and just print the current window, if you save it as a .png the quality will be no worse then any other method.

My Problem with swiftkit is I like to play with near full screen cause my comp can handle it. Swiftkit has always seemed to me as to be catering to the lower end computers.
